BAPDODUK is not just a restaurant; it's a cozy haven for comfort food lovers. The decor is humble, with a vibe that exudes warmth and familiarity — exactly what one would desire from a gathering place focused on delivering exceptional taste over glamor. Here, the slogan “We prove ourselves by skill” rings true, as echoed by satisfied customers who rave about the depth of flavor in every dish.
One highlight is the OjingeoDeopbab—spicy stir-fried squid served over rice ($18.00) that bursts with mouth-watering zest without overwhelming your taste buds. It’s perfect for spice enthusiasts looking for balance. For something even heartier, try the Ppyeodagwi GamjaTang ($17.00)—a savory pork backbone stew that encapsulates the essence of Korean homestyle cooking.
If you're feeling adventurous, don't miss the chef's special dishes like OSamJim ($45.00), a braised spicy squid dish paired with tender pork belly. This bold offering has been praised for its rich flavors and satisfying portion size; it’s a dish that speaks of home, made with love and authenticity.
It’s worth noting that fans of seafood come for the Ganjang Gejang—marinated crab that serves as an initiation into Korean delicacies. Tasked with extracting the tender meat from the shell, this dish is a treasured experience for those brave enough to dig in. Recounting my experience, I can hardly articulate the unique pleasure in indulging in this dish. It may not be the quickest meal, but it's truly gratifying.

Went there after one of my relatives recommended. Don't expect this to be squeaky clean restaurant. This is a comfort food joint which has slogan that says we prove ourselves by skill which was true. We got the 간장게장 with 된장찌개 combo, 해물파전 and 쭈삼곱돌 and it was enough for 3 people. Dishes were flavorful without being overly spicy or salty.

Me and my parents came here for lunch and it was perfect. The kimchi tasted real good and the yukejang was good too. Trustworthy 10/10. Classic Korean taste and just what you expect.

I heard that they had great marinated crabs (ganjang gejang) so I gave it a try and they were really good. They were appropriately priced and their dwenjang jjigae was also spectacular. Thier donkatsu was soso, but they still have great food. Highly recommend!

It's the place to try raw marinated crab if you've never had it. But make sure you are ready to use your hands, some time and effort and dig in. Crabs are different from the ones in South Korea as the ones there are so soft you can bite and chew through the shell. USA crabs are harder and need the shell crushers to get through. Still very delicious for the brave.

This place is legit! Authentically Korea, not that fake Americanized Korean cuisine. The crab was so good and we drove an hour here to try the renowned dish and we would have driven double the distance. Sooooo amazing and sooo undervalued. 42 for 4 crabs plus a tofu stew. Excellent value and this is really outstanding. Must go

This is such a hidden gem! A little bit difficult to find because the store front really didn’t look like a restaurant. They have marinated crabs at a very reasonable price but very fresh! So delicious!!! I saw people order other dishes as well and they seem to really enjoy them. The wait staff were some really nice ladies!!!!

Best Korean Restaurant Near Me. Great people, homey foods, fantastic sides.

I really like their marinated raw crab. It was one of the best I’ve tried in NY/NJ. The umami flavour is very strong and the crabs they use are very rich. I love their small side dishes as well.
